The CREW Lab

CREW members address global mental health disparities by building a more inclusive and culturally responsive scientific knowledge base. One line of research examines how well theoretical frameworks, clinical instruments, and treatment modalities for depression and suicidality originally developed in Western contexts apply to populations in the Global South and to migrant and immigrant communities in the Global North. A second stream focuses on the training and implementation of cultural competence and evidence-based practices among mental health professionals and trainees around the world. A third area emphasizes the development of culturally informed approaches to clinical supervision and mentoring within health service psychology. Together, these interconnected efforts reflect our commitment to advancing clinical science through an equity-centered lens.
